This deluxe model includes the new TP70S snare pad that allows playing snare head, open rimshot, and closed rimshot voices in each of the three zones for more musical expression. Your feet will appreciate the genuine Yamaha bass drum pedal that provides authentic feel for the kick drum, and the HH65 adjustable hi-hat controller pedal. Three 10” cymbals are mounted to chrome cymbal stands on a steel rack system to provide a solid foundation for your rhythm sessions. The DTX452K comes equipped with 10 professional drum kits made with world-famous sounds from throughout the history of drums including Yamaha’s legendary acoustic series. By utilising voices from our professional DTX900/700/500 and DTX-MULTI 12, each kit has extremely high sound quality with “Accent Articulation” for dynamic instruments that change sound characteristics according to your hit strength.
But that’s not all – you can freely mix any of the 287 organic drum sounds to create customised kits that suit your style – even if your style is always changing. Try a heavy metal double bass kit one day then change into a dance kit the next, or keep your ten favourite kits of all time. With the included 3-zone snare pad, real bass drum pedal and pro hi-hat controller pedal, the DTX452K is really like having ten professional drum sets in one compact electronic drum kit.

It takes skills to survive in the tribe. The training functions of the DTX402 series have been expanded for drummers and enthusiasts of all levels. There are 10 onboard routines including warm ups, groove tools, and drumming games designed with Yamaha’s experience in Music Education to make practice fun and effective.
The DTX comes with 10 built-in training functions that are only possible with an electronic drum. These include the Pad Gate Function, suited even to beginners, which trains you up gradually over time, the rhythm Gate Function, which fosters a precise sense of rhythm – fundamental for drumming, and the Fast Blast Function, which measures the speed of your strokes. There is also a scoring function so you can assess your skills objectively. Take advantage of this complete range of support functions to improve your power of expression as a drummer.
Playability and Feel from a Drum Company
Yamaha has been making drums for over 45 years, so we know that playability is important to all drummers. Using experience gained from developing the popular DTX-PAD we have redesigned the drum pads of the DTX402 series to provide a natural response, solid durability and excellent stick feel.
The new pads use a rubber surface so your sticks will not slide around on the head, and you can practice single, double and triple stroke techniques for use on a set of acoustic drums. The new TP70S (included with DTX452K) is a 3-zone snare pad that lets you play open and closed rim-shots for even more snare expression and is an available as an optional upgrade for DTX432K/DTX402K. For the kick drum you get a real Yamaha FP6110A bass drum pedal (included with DTX452K/ DTX432K) that provides smooth action and real feel for developing your foot technique to play an acoustic bass drum. The HH65 remote hi-hat controller (included with DTX452K/DTX432K) lets you to play the hi-hat with more expression, allowing not just open and closed but also half-open, pedal and splash hi-hat sounds.
DTX402 Touch App
The dedicated iOS/Android app, DTX402 Touch allows you to train in ways that are more enjoyable and easy to follow. On the Challenge Mode function, play along with the built-in training tracks like a game. Once you complete the final stage, you’ll receive a drummer’s certificate from Yamaha. You can also use the Editor function to customise drum kits. The DTX402 series also works with the Rec’n’Share iOS app so you can practice and perform with your favourite music and quickly share with your friends and social.
