Trinity Rock & Pop Drums exams are offered at all grades from Initial (beginner’s level) to Grade 8 (advanced). Learners will develop their playing skills beginning with basic grooves in a range of styles with different time signatures, tempos and strokes, solo breaks and fills, moving through to new instrumental techniques including different paradiddles, flams, drags, ruffs, rim shots and ratamacues. Session Skills will help to develop improvisation and playback skills – both important for drummers.
This book contains all you need for your Grade 7 Drums exam:
- Songs in drum chart format
- Performance tips
- Technical support
- Supporting skills and a group song for those in a band
- A full CD of demo and backing tracks.
Performing is central to the Rock & Pop exams – you will play three songs and choose to complete one of two Session Skills. You also have the option to include one of your own original songs, so you can make the exam your own and show off your individual talent.
Each exam will be supported by a book with drum charts, a CD with demo and backing tracks, performance notes, and guidance on technical skills and Session Skills.
With music from David Bowie to the Rolling Stones, Muse to Moby, there is something to suit all drummers.
Whether you are self-taught or taking lessons, learning for fun or you have a view to a career in music, Trinity College London Rock & Pop exams will help you to achieve your ambitions.
